Fr. Faber

Fr. Frederick William Faber (1814–1863) was a convert priest who became well known for his clear, practical way of explaining the spiritual life. After leaving Anglicanism, he founded the London Oratory and spent his years helping ordinary Catholics grow in devotion to Our Lord and His Blessed Mother. He wrote many approachable books—such as The Precious Blood and The Foot of the Cross—and penned the well-known preface to True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin. His tone was simple, warm, and direct, always aimed at strengthening faith and encouraging a steady, generous love of God.
