Fr. Germanus of St. Stanislaus, Passionist

Fr. Germanus of St. Stanislaus, C.P. (1840–1918), was a Passionist priest best known for guiding and recording the life of St. Gemma Galgani. He served as her spiritual director and later wrote the standard biography that preserves her story with clarity and fidelity. His work is marked by a straightforward style and a steady concern for the truth of her virtues and experiences. Beyond his writing, he was a practical and devoted religious, committed to the Passionist spirit of penance, prayer, and confidence in Our Lord’s Passion.
