Blessed Raymond of Capua
Bl. Raymond of Capua (c. 1330–1399) was a Dominican priest best remembered as the confessor and close guide of St. Catherine of Siena. He accompanied her through many of the difficult missions Heaven entrusted to her and later wrote her definitive life, preserving her example for future generations. His own work in the Order was steady and practical: restoring discipline, encouraging regular observance, and strengthening the spiritual life of his brethren. Raymond’s legacy is that of a faithful priest who served the Church with clarity, loyalty, and quiet perseverance.
