Rev. Clement Thuente, O.P.

Rev. Clement Thuente, O.P. (1870–1937) was an American Dominican priest known for his eloquent preaching and prolific writing. He was a prominent member of the Order of Preachers (Dominicans), whose mission centres on preaching and teaching the Gospel.

Fr. Thuente was deeply devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Blessed Virgin Mary, and much of his work reflected these devotions. He travelled extensively, conducting missions, retreats, and novenas across the United States, where his sermons drew large audiences due to their clarity, fervour, and theological depth.

In addition to his preaching ministry, Fr. Thuente authored numerous devotional and theological works. His writings often aimed to inspire greater devotion among the faithful while providing sound catechetical instruction. His efforts contributed to the strengthening of Catholic faith and piety during a time of significant cultural and social change in the United States.
