The purpose of this critical analysis is not to seek to make noise to an abbot or to dictate their duty to our Superiors. We believe that they are honest enough to remedy the detected ills from which we suffer on their own. Our goal is first of all to keep our faith honest as we see it underhandedly threatened on various sides (even on the side of our priests) and by various means (including the media of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X).
This analysis of the book in question was only written after a first reading undertaken without prejudice but which aroused our concern about the effects that the ideas and suggestions expressed by the authors and particularly by Father Celier could have on the faithful of the Society of Saint Pius X. After a second very careful reading, we must conclude that, despite the abundance of true details on the history of the rupture between the Fraternity and the Vatican authorities, this book knowingly omits the efficient and real causes of the current crisis, which is unprecedented in the history of the Church; that the proposed solutions, far from solving this crisis, will also extend it to the Fraternity by inspiring the distrust of the Superiors and by weakening faith and theological hope; that they will even cause the desertion of the faithful and priests who, tired of this never-ending predictable struggle, will have let themselves be tempted by the imitation of the seductive agreements signed by the Vianney Institute of Campos and the Institute of the Good Shepherd, agreements that are only easy allies to modernist and apostate Rome.
Noting on the one hand the intense activity deployed to sell and have read this pernicious work despite the foreseeable gravity of its effects, and on the other hand, the silence kept by our Priors and Superiors who, without doubt, did not have the opportunity to read this book with a pencil in hand, we considered it our duty to transmit to them and to our friends the result of our reflections. Of course, we have no recognized competence for this work, which is certainly very imperfect and which will undoubtedly be blamed on us. Nevertheless, the sound doctrine and reliable sacraments we have received from the Brotherhood make it a duty of gratitude for us to speak publicly without hesitation, as if we were defending our mother. That is why we sign this work with our name.
Finally, we ask the reader to note that we are judging only the facts and not the internal forum of the authors and priests who wrote and made it possible to publish this book.
