Our Lady of Good Counsel April 26

The devotion of Our Lady of Good Counsel is spreading rapidly through the Church. It originated in Genazzano, a village in the neighborhood of Rome, where an Augustinian church, in which is enshrined a miraculous picture of our Lady, has been for centuries a place of popular pilgrimage.

Let us all rejoice in the Lord, celebrating a festival day in honot of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Good Counsel, in whose solemnity the angels rejoice and give praise to the Son of God. — Introit

The Imitation of Christ
Happy is he whom truth teacheth by itself, not by figures and passing sounds, as it is in itself.
You should know the story of this feast. Look for the name Genazzano in the Catholic Encyclopedia now and you will find a very fine account.
We pray to Our Lady of Good Counsel for advice as is what we should do in important issues. Pray to her today particularly for the grace of knowing what to do for a life’s work. It would be an excellent thing to put your vocation and your future success entirely in the hands of Our Lady of Good Counsel.
Mother, tell me, what am I to do.
