Ss. Cyriacus, Largus and Smaragdus — Martyrs August 8

St Cyriacus was a holy deacon at Rome who, with Ss. Largus and Smaragdus and twenty others, suffered martyrdom for their faith.

Fear the Lord, all ye His saints; for there is no want to them that fear Him: the rich have wanted and have suffered hunger, but they that seek the Lord shall not be deprived of any good. — Introit

The Imitation of Christ
They shall gain great freedom of mind, who for Thy name enter upon the narrow way, and relinquish all worldly care.
Companionship tells on character. These saints mutually encouraged one another to be steadfast in the time of trial and rather to die than to deny Christ.
Make Jesus your best friend. By frequent Communions and visits to Him in the Blessed Sacrament you will develop a strong personal love for Him that will show in your conduct and tell others of the companionship you are keeping.
Thou, too, wast with Jesus of Nazareth.
