St. William — Abbot June 25

William was born of noble parents in Piedmont. Having left his family and renounced his riches he built a monastery. His holy life was spent entirely in the meditation of divine things and he became famous for his miracles.

Blessed is the man that doth meditate in the law of the Lord: his delight is therein day and night, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. — First Antiphon

The Imitation of Christ
Look upon the lively examples of the holy fathers, in whom shone real perfection and the religious life, and thou wilt see how little it is, and almost nothing, that we do.
St. William wished to live entirely for God in retirement. When his cave was discovered, he fled somewhere else.
You need not live in a cave, nor be on your knees all day to be praying always. Make the good intention and so consecrate your whole day to God’s service.
All for the greater honor and glory of God.
