Terms and rules

Supreme Rule

The supreme rule is the glory of God and the salvation of souls. All content and activity on this site shall be judged on the basis of this supreme rule.

Since true Christian zeal should know how to tolerate certain evils in order to avoid greater ones, moderators shall use the supreme rule more as a carrot than as a stick.

There are however certain evils which will not be tolerated on this site, which is why the following forum rules are given.

Forum Rules

  1. Upon registration you must indicate whether you are a Catholic or not.
  2. If you register as a Catholic you must submit to the teaching authority of the Catholic Church.
  3. If you register as a non-Catholic you may only participate for the sole purpose of discussing the Catholic faith.
  4. You must remain respectful and charitable, at all times and to everyone.
  5. You must avoid all sins of the tongue (i.e. slander/calumny and detraction).
  6. Your arguments must be reasoned and reasonable, gratuitous claims or opinions will not be tolerated.
  7. You must make every effort to stay on topic and respond to counter arguments.
  8. You may only register one account.

Notes

  • New members will be "quarantined", meaning their posts will need to be manually approved until such time as a moderator is sufficiently convinced that the registration is genuine and the member able and willing to abide by the terms and rules.
  • There is a section on this site which will only be visible to Catholics that have been verified as such by staff. If you are a Catholic and would like access to this area, you can contact one of the staff members to discuss how to become a verified member.
