The object of this book is to promote devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, by giving special prominence to her Divine Maternity and to the fact that it was God Himself who gave us the example to honour her. From this, it concludes that all the honour, love, and confidence we bestow upon her is entirely in accordance with the will and example of God Himself and is, moreover, the fulfilment of her own prophecy that "henceforth all generations shall call me blessed."

Rev. Girardey starts with an explanation of the Hail Mary, revealing its origins, meaning, and its place as the most beautiful of prayers after the Lord’s Prayer. He also touches on key Marian doctrines, such as the Immaculate Conception, the Visitation, and the Assumption, offering brief yet insightful reflections on these pivotal moments in Mary's life. The book also explores the significance of the names of Jesus and Mary, highlighting their special place in Catholic devotion.

The author has also included selections from Bossuet’s Sermons on the Blessed Virgin, Bronchain’s Meditations, and the Church Histories of Darras and Rohrbacher. These additions enrich the reader's understanding and appreciation of Mary.

This book, then, will be a help for Catholics to better understand, appreciate and keep up their prayers and devotions to the Mother of Our Lord, and to acknowledge and embrace her as our own Mother.
